Da Nang Tourism Sees Impressive Growth: Tourist Numbers Surge Over 23%
Da Nang, a central coastal city in Vietnam, welcomed nearly 1.9 million tourists in the first quarter of this year, marking a significant increase of 23.4% compared to the same period last year.
In March alone, the city received approximately 672,000 visitors, reflecting a 16% increase from March last year. Accommodation and dining services generated an estimated revenue of around $90.5 million during the month.
Accommodation revenue specifically reached nearly $39 million, up by 33% compared to the same period last year. Overall, the total revenue for the first quarter surpassed $107 million, showing a robust growth of about 38% year-on-year.
Da Nang aims to attract 8.4 million domestic and international visitors this year.
The city has planned various events and festivals including the International Fireworks Festival, as well as hosting competitions like Iron Man and Marathon to further enhance its appeal as a tourist destination.

Da Nang and Nha Trang have emerged as the top choices among South Korean tourists visiting Vietnam, according to insights from the online travel platform Agoda.
These central coastal cities lead the list, with Hoi An close behind, showcasing the appeal of Vietnam’s beautiful beaches. Additionally, Phu Quoc Island and Ho Chi Minh City secured spots in the top five.
Agoda compiled this ranking by analyzing booking information from South Korean tourists between January 1 and March 31.
Lam Vu, Agoda’s country director, noted the universal allure of beaches for travelers worldwide.
Da Nang and Nha Trang are renowned for their stunning coastal scenery, while Hoi An boasts An Bang Beach, recognized as one of Asia’s most picturesque by Tripadvisor readers.
Phu Quoc, situated along the southern coast, is celebrated for its extensive sandy beaches, drawing numerous international tourists during peak seasons.
During the first quarter, South Korea stood as Vietnam’s largest source of visitors, with over 1.2 million arrivals.
Notably, several South Korean celebrities have visited Nha Trang and Hoi An, bolstering Vietnam’s presence on the global tourism stage.
